Description

This is an exceptional property on the hillside of Gythio, consisting of an authentic stone house built around  1870 on a plot of 595 sq.m., located high on the slope of Akoumaros within the town of Gythio with excellent, unobstructed views of the town and the sea, upon the harbor and the island 'Kranai' of Gythio and upon the whole Laconian Gulf. The house is approximately 180 sq.m. on three levels, structurally sound, but needs a lot of repair. On the ground floor there is an archway of 19 sq.m., accessible through an external door at the front of the house, from where a public municipal path passes. The arch has two windows. An external staircase at the side of the house leads to the other external entrances of the levels.

On the first floor the entrance door leads to a hallway with a small bathroom, then to a small kitchenette and two rooms. On the same floor and with a separate entrance there is another archway and then a second archway at the back, which is lower with a cistern.

On the second floor there is a corridor which leads to an internal central anteroom and from there one reaches a large and two small rooms as well as a kitchen and a storage room. An internal staircase, one part stone and the other part wooden, leads from the vestibule to the third floor with two rooms. From this floor, an external door is the only access to the larger part of the sloping villa behind the house where there is also a traditional built-in oven next to the house. The lodge, with respect to the local architecture and history of the area, participates in enhancing the charm of the traditional settlements. The undeveloped part of the plot extends to the side and mostly behind the house, landscaped in different levels with some olive trees. The plot is exceptionally even and buildable and has the possibility of additional building in accordance with the current urban planning regulations.
From this particular towerhouse there is an amazing panoramic view.
